Family-Friendly Fall Events in Seattle & Phoenix: October’s Best Pumpkin Patches, Festivals, and Halloween Fun

October is here, and with it comes crisp air, cozy sweaters, and a calendar bursting with family fun! Whether you’re in the lush Pacific Northwest or the sunny Southwest, there’s something magical about celebrating fall with your loved ones. Here’s a roundup of the best pumpkin patches, lively festivals, and spooktacular Halloween events for families in both Seattle and Phoenix this October.

Seattle: Fall Magic in the Emerald City

• Pumpkin Patches: Head to Carpinito Brothers Pumpkin Patch in Kent for a classic experience—think corn mazes, hayrides, and a sea of pumpkins. Bob’s Corn & Pumpkin Farm in Snohomish is another family favorite, offering a U-pick pumpkin patch, a giant corn maze, and evening bonfires for s’mores.
• Festivals: The Seattle Harvest Festival at Magnuson Park brings together food trucks, craft booths, and live music, all with a festive fall flair. For something unique, check out the Fremont Oktoberfest—while it’s known for its craft beer, there’s also a kid-friendly root beer garden and pumpkin decorating.
• Halloween Events: Don’t miss Woodland Park Zoo’s Pumpkin Bash, where kids can watch animals enjoy pumpkin treats and trick-or-treat around the zoo. Georgetown Morgue Haunted House offers a family-friendly afternoon with toned-down scares for younger visitors.

Phoenix: Autumn Adventures in the Valley of the Sun

• Pumpkin Patches: Visit MacDonald’s Ranch in Scottsdale for a western-style pumpkin patch complete with pony rides, a petting zoo, and hayrides. Vertuccio Farms in Mesa is another must-see, featuring a giant corn maze, train rides, and plenty of pumpkins to pick.
• Festivals: The Arizona State Fair runs through October, offering rides, games, and fair food galore. For a more local vibe, the Downtown Chandler Halloween Spooktacular includes crafts, games, and a costume parade for all ages.
• Halloween Events: Schnepf Farms Pumpkin & Chili Party is a Phoenix-area tradition, with pumpkin picking, a spooky train ride, and nightly fireworks. For a not-so-scary option, Enchanted Pumpkin Garden in Carefree features whimsical pumpkin carvings and interactive activities for kids.

No matter where you are, October is the perfect time to make memories with your family. Grab your jackets (or sunscreen!), and get ready for a month full of laughter, treats, and autumn adventures!
